Our
"Silver Buckle Award" (established
2008) |
This
award goes to the group member who has made the most recent
"power dismount"*
.
Originally
there was an actual silver buckle but that has been retired.
Later a framed picture of a "power dismount" taken
at a professional rodeo event was hung with honor in the cabin
of the current award holder. The framed
picture has also been retired.
This is now a virtual award.

The
Rules/Protest Committee has determined that....
1. Any unplanned dismount that causes a person to land on a
part of their body other than in a balanced position on their
feet is considered a "Silver Buckle" dismount.
2. If by chance two or more people experience a power dismount
as the result of the same event, the last person who hits the
ground will be awarded the "Silver Buckle".
3. Verbal protests related to application of the rules can be
filed by a potential awardee. The protest will be ruled on by
an ad hoc protest committee composed of participants on the
ride.
4. Written protests related to application of the rules can
be filed by a potential awardee but must be filed by the end
of the ride.
